Mix twisted wire is made by taking two different types of wire and twisting them together to form a spiral. In this case a standard length of kanthal is twisted with a length of flat ribbon wire.

This wire consists of a length of 26 gauge kanthal A1 and a length of 0.2mm x 0.8mm flat wire twisted together, and then coiled at 0.45 ohms.
